Key Features
Accessibility & Easy Read Mode
Accessibility was a first-class concern from the start. The site was built to meet WCAG 2.1 AA standards, with proper semantic HTML, sufficient colour contrast, keyboard navigation, and screen-reader-friendly markup.
Beyond the baseline, an easy-read mode was implemented for visually impaired users. Activating it increases font size, switches to a high-contrast palette, widens line spacing, and simplifies layout — all toggled client-side with a single button, persisted to localStorage.
Business Email Infrastructure
Custom business email addresses were set up for the company directors, routed through a professional mail provider. This gave the business a credible, branded identity for all client and referral communications.
Templated Contact Flows
Rather than a single generic contact form, the site provides guided contact flows tailored to different query types — general enquiries, referrals, and job applications each have their own template. This structure reduces back-and-forth, sets expectations for the user, and ensures the right information reaches the right person internally.
Outcome
The site launched on time and is live at derivian.co.uk. It gave the business a professional digital presence with the accessibility and operational infrastructure needed to work effectively in the care sector.
